Most Expensive Diamonds No.3 - The Cullinan Diamond - Monroe Yorke Diamonds

This is the Cullinan I Diamond at $400million, and No 3 in the Monroe Yorke Diamonds' most expensive diamonds of the world.  

Again, this superb diamond is an exquisite gem discovered at the Premier Diamond mine in South Africa, and is the largest rough stone ever found.  

When found the uncut stone was a staggering 3,106.75 carats (621.35 grams) Many know the diamond as the Great Star of Africa and is 530.4 carats (106.1 grams).

The Cullinan I Diamond is now mounted in the head of The Sceptre with the Cross. The large rough diamond was cut into nine smaller pieces, the Cullinan I being the larger part.  The Cullinan II, a smaller section of the rough stone is the fourth largest diamond in the world.  Known as The Little Star of Africa it weighs 63.5 grams -317.4 carats. Both of these stunning gems are mounted in the Crown Jewels of the British Royal Family.
